  Synopsys? Xilinx? Well EDA and FPGA are sure nice places to retire - as I have always maintained EDA is a highly incestuous industry. I wouldnt be surprised if these pay-scales at Synopsys and Xilinx are due to cross-pollination of engineering staff.
